Peter Grant admits one ‘concern’ after Celtic handed ‘perfect’ Champions League draw

On Wednesday, Brendan Rodgers and the Celtics will go on a new Champions League adventure.

Celtic has gotten off to a perfect start in the new season, with no one able to put a glove on them yet.

They look like a house on fire.

Everything began in the preseason when Celtic proved their strength by defeating Chelsea and Manchester City,

and that form has carried over into the new campaign.

It’s time for Europe’s top tournament after the Bhoys easily defeated Rangers

prior to the international break and showed their class against Hearts the previous weekend.

The games assigned to Scotland’s champions sparked a lot of discussion when the recently revised

Champions League draw was announced last month.

Yes, there were some interesting away matches against Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund,

but the home games stood out since many people thought they were in their favor.

The Bhoys have puffed and puffied in Europe,

whether it was under Rodgers or Ange Postecoglou in recent years,

only to crash out as soon as the Christmas lights went up.

But before Celtic hosted Slovan Bratislava of Slovakia at Parkhead,

Peter Grant discussed his expectations for the team and the reasons he is “concerned.”

Real Madrid last made a trip to these shores not too long ago,

and there have been unforgettable nights against Barcelona in Paradise in the past.

Grant mentioned that while “you know what’s coming” when playing those clubs at home,

he believes there is an element of uncertainty about some of these teams,

which is concerning when they play Bratislava, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge, and Young Boys.

Grant made this comment on Go Radio.

Celtic’s Champions League campaign begins

Grant remarked, “People are saying you could have chosen the draw yourself because it’s probably the ideal draw.”

“It’s a great chance, but you have to go out and perform, as Barry Ferguson would also say.

We have all traveled to Europe before, and each time you go,

you are always taken aback by how talented some of the players are that represent these organizations.

That is all there is to it.

“I am acquainted with Brendan (Rodgers) and his team; their on-field demeanor,

regardless of their position, and their approach towards the ball speak volumes

about their hard-working and dedicated nature.

They haven’t played as well as they did at the beginning of the season, in my opinion, in the last two games.

They are now embarking on a new journey in Europe, which is unfamiliar to some of them.

However, these boys venture out and what a fantastic chance. They are capable of doing it.

However, I don’t know enough about the opposition to confirm that it is unchangeable.

You never have to guess when a Real Madrid or Barcelona game is coming up.

However, in cases such as Slovan Bratislava or similar situations. We can get drawn into things at times,

which is why I am a little more worried about it. I’m speaking about us as supporters,

not about Brendan or the players.
