Reason Why Alcaraz Withdrew From Davis Cup
Carlos Alcaraz, a teenage tennis pro from Spain, has apparently opted to take a hiatus from tennis and has withdrew from the Davis Cup.
The 21-year-old, along with Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Italy’s Jannik Sinner, is already considered one of the finest players in men’s tennis right now.
Alcaraz was just spotted competing for his nation in the Davis Cup.
The current world number three has chosen to withdraw from the competition and take a break from professional tennis, according to a report published in Daily Express that cited Spanish media outlet Marca.
He was instrumental in helping Spain defeat France and secure their spot in the final eight.
Whether the Spaniard will play in the remaining Davis Cup matches for Spain is unknown.
Following his victory over Ugo Humbert in his most recent match, the young player acknowledged that he was finding it hard to live up to the expectations.
He said, “There are moments when I push myself to grin even when I don’t feel like it. It alters the dynamic in certain situations and doesn’t in others.
I tried forcing a smile during the US Open, but it didn’t come naturally. I’ve learned a lot this week, which has benefited me both psychologically and technically with tennis.”
