JUST IN! Celtic fans rage at Lawrence Shankland and ready to push him away….
Brendan Rodgers’ side dismissed Hearts 2-0 at Parkhead thanks to a penalty from Engels and a late Luke McCowan strike, continuing their perfect start to the season.
However, supporters have been left raging at the Scotland international striker after a video of his attempts to put off the penalty taker did the rounds on social media.
“Big pressure, big pressure…“, Shankland appeared to shout at his opponent, while another of his teammates chimed in: “£10million? Aye, right!“
However, it was Engels who had the last laugh as he cooly slotted his penalty past Craig Gordon and into the corner to give his side the lead.
The striker has often been the pantomime villain at Parkhead due to his Rangers allegiance, and resumed his role yet again in the 2-0 defeat.
Celtic fans laugh at Lawrence Shankland after new Hearts footage emerges
Shankland, a boyhood Rangers supporter, has often been on the end of plenty of abuse and comments from the crowd at Parkhead, with that trend continuing.
It was the home side that ran out as the victors, leaving the striker with egg on his face, particularly given Engels’ goal despite his best attempts to put him off.
As Celtic continued their dominant season so far, comfortably sitting at the top of the league, their win sent Hearts into last place.
Now, fans have taken to social media to continue their digs at Shankland as previously unseen footage of the penalty was shared.
