Arne Slot had a lot to say about Liverpool’s play following their shocking 1-0 Premier League loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds had started the season with an excellent three-game winning streak, but after Callum Hudson-Odoi gave the visitors their first victory at Anfield since 1969, their manager was left feeling disappointed.

The Dutchman bemoaned Liverpool’s carelessness with the ball, bad decisions, and subpar play in their opening loss of the season.

“We are not thrilled with how the game went, and the result is what aggravates us the most. We scarcely had any opportunities because the game was stop-start, according to Slot.

“We simply need to examine ourselves; we need to improve. It was not good enough that we lost the ball around the area far too often. We need to improve when using the ball.

“Our choices and methods were not up to par. We played solid defense most of the time, but when the two quick players entered the game, things got tough. We took a lot of chances, and the outcome was excellent.

Nuno Espirito Santo, on the other hand, was ecstatic with Forest’s performance as they maintained their unblemished start to the campaign.

The Portuguese stated, “It took a lot of work from the players, the organization, tackling, and the cover to realize Liverpool are such a good team.”

“Being organized and exerting all of your effort is the only way to succeed here.

“It takes a lot of energy to start the way we did with our wingers, Nico Dominguez and Elliot Anderson, tracking Liverpool’s full-backs. The team performed admirably even though they required new legs.

“We are putting in a lot of effort; the key is to develop and have faith in this concept that you can accomplish.”
