Updates on Jarrod Bowen’s ball boy, who was left crying after an advertisement board crashed on him

Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek intervened promptly when the safety of a ballboy at Crystal Palace was put at risk following the Hammers’ second goal.

Jarrod Bowen said the ballboy who was caught by a collapsed advertising board during West Ham’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace is “smiling” and “all good now,” and has received the West Ham star shirt.

Tomas Soucek’s opening goal at Selhurst Park with less than 25 minutes remaining enthralled visiting spectators. However, the surge caused the advertising hoardings at the bottom of the away end to collapse, causing a slew of spectators and the hoardings themselves to fall on a ballboy sitting on the edge of the field.

Stars from West Ham then hurried to the boy’s side. In order to help the young man crawl out of the wreckage, Soucek swiftly raised the broken portion of the hoardings. Later, he and Bowen were seen speaking with the boy to make sure he was unharmed.

After the ball boy got safely outside, the West Ham players gave him a check-up before stadium security took him away. After the half, players could be seen conversing with him once more.

For Julen Lopetegui’s team, Bowen and Soucek both had goals; the Czech international opened the score in the 67th minute, and Bowen’s goal five minutes later all but sealed the victory.

After losing to Aston Villa on the first day of the Premier League season, West Ham has already won their first match.

On Wednesday, West Ham returns to action as they host Bournemouth in a Carabao Cup second-round match. In the meanwhile, Palace hosts Norwich on Tuesday night in their midweek League Cup match.
