Sunderland’s Jack Clarke has joined the list of players who failed their medicals.

Ipswich Town have agreed to sign Sunderland winger Jack Clarke.

The Portman Road club will pay a £15 million fee up front, but the deal might cost up to £20 million, with £5 million in potential add-ons.

The midfielder will have a physical in Suffolk on Friday before signing a long-term contract.

Clarke began his career at Leeds and was sold to Tottenham for £10 million. He joined Sunderland in 2022, initially on loan, before signing a permanent contract until 2026.

He has started both of Sunderland’s Championship games this season, scoring in the first away against Cardiff City. Both have been won under new head coach Regis Le Bris, and there is newfound confidence on Wearside as Burnley come on Saturday.

Sunderland are reportedly close to acquiring Zenit St. Petersburg striker Wilson Isidor. Isidor, 23, is a former French youth international who began his career at Rennes.

Clarke will be Ipswich’s eleventh summer acquisition since Kieran McKenna led the team to Premier League promotion.

They are also close to signing Chelsea attacker Armando Broja on a season-long loan.

Ipswich face champions Manchester City on Saturday, after losing their Premier League opener to Liverpool.
