Nottingham Forest will benefit from the services of Keylor Navas and now Luca Modric, both Real Madrid stars.

The current Real Madrid contract of Modric ends at the end of the current campaign. The seasoned midfielder is expected to rejoin the Premier League this summer after finding a new team.

Due to his lack of first-team appearances this season, Modric, who is 38 years old, has been predicted to leave his present club this summer when his contract expires.

Although Modric’s former team, Dinamo Zagreb, has been linked to him, the Croatian international recently said he was unable to pursue a return to the Premier League, where he established his name playing for Tottenham Hotspur from 2008 to 2012.

“At my age, it will be challenging, but anything can happen,” Modric said to PL Stories: The Croatian Touch on Optus Sports.

During his four years in England, Modric had fun. He played 160 games for Spurs in all competitions under manager Harry Redknapp, showcasing the kind of talent that led to a £30 million transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2012.

“You do not just stop watching the Premier League when you quit. I watch the league, particularly the Croatian-player teams.

“I have nothing but praise for Harry [Redknapp]. Although he is an excellent instructor, I was even more impressed by the amazing man he is on the inside. Up until my departure from Tottenham, he was a big help to me. I will always be appreciative, and I had great times working with him.

“It helps to have someone who genuinely believes in you and recognizes your potential. I particularly needed that after my early setbacks. Without a doubt, we produced the most exquisite football in England.”
