Amidst the mayhem in Ipswich, Erling Haaland continues his incredible Premier League record at Man City.

Erling Haaland created yet another chapter in Premier League

history during a wild opening to Manchester City’s match against Ipswich.

The Norwegian striker scored twice as City went up 3-1 inside 16 minutes,

leaving Brentford as the last team whose defense crumbled under his boot.

Six other teams also gave up just one goal against the former Borussia Dortmund star.

The situation is a little more painful for Wolves, who have allowed in

eight goals against Haaland—the most he has ever scored against any team in the top flight.

Local rivals Manchester United have also suffered greatly from Haaland,

having conceded six goals against them.

With two goals against Kieran McKenna’s team,

Haaland has now extended his record. Ipswich was the only

Premier League team who did not allow a goal to Haaland when they were promoted.

Speaking ahead of the match,

McKenna lauded the Norwegian’s skill on the field and

acknowledged that one of their pregame goals had been to stop him.

“I think (Haaland) is pretty unique in world football, really,

in terms of his physical attributes and his strength and his pace and his power,

” he stated. “I doubt nobody in the current game ever comes close to such qualities.

“He’s an incredible striker and, of course, we’ve analysed this

week and worked hard on how we’ll try and give ourselves the

best chance to compete against his strengths. But on the other hand,

we know again that they have so many different strengths.

“They have individual quality in all different positions.

They have different ways to utilise that individual quality

with the different structures that they use on the ball.

“They’re a team of fantastic strengths and we’ll try and

account for those as well as we can, but also trying to make

sure that throughout the 90 minutes, we give the right account

of ourselves and we show our identity on the pitch as well.”
