The star of the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, is endorsing vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, following in the footsteps of his head coach. Known for voicing his opinions and supporting causes, the four-time NBA champion offered his viewpoint once more on the final night of the Democratic National Convention.

Like Steve Kerr, Curry decided to draw parallels between the political election and his recent Olympic achievement. He added through a video, “What a great honor it was to represent Team USA and go out there and win that gold medal at the Olympics this summer,” as he wore the medal from his neck.

“We were all reminded by that unity both on and off the court that when we work together, we can accomplish anything and keep inspiring the world.” For this reason, I think Kamala can continue to advance our nation as president and restore that togetherness. This is about ensuring that families can be cared for during the most vulnerable moments and about maintaining hope and faith in our nation.”

Curry gave a very straightforward speech emphasizing his support for Harris, but Kerr took a more combative stance and decided to act (directing Curry’s iconic “night night” gesture towards the Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump). His prior interactions with the former US Senator had a positive effect on him, which contributed to his choice to publicly support Harris. “I got to visit Kamala with my team in the White House last year and I can tell you one one thing I knew then and definitely know how, the Oval Office suits her well,” Curry stated.
