Trippier ‘valued by all of us’ at Newcastle – Howe

Although Kieran Trippier wants to leave St James’ Park, Eddie Howe claims he is still “valued by all of us” at Newcastle United.

The 33-year-old, who did not play in the Premier League opening against Southampton, is eager to investigate new possibilities that would allow him to play regularly for the first team.

Everton is among the teams showing interest, as Sean Dyche collaborated with him at Burnley.

Prior to the trip to Bournemouth this weekend, Howe stated on Friday, “The situation is business as usual.”

“This week, Tipps has trained incredibly well. Many of the stories that have surfaced have astonished me. He is a valued team member who has shown excellent professionalism.

Tino has had an excellent preseason, and since he has only had two weeks of training, there is no reason to start him this weekend. We all think highly of him.”

Trippier was instrumental in Newcastle’s ascent since joining the club in January 2022 after leaving Atletico Madrid to become the first signing under the new ownership. The club qualified for the Champions League the previous season.

“He’s played a huge role in changing the sort of narrative around the team,” said Howe. “He took a great risk when he joined us, moving from a big football club where he was enjoying success to a team fighting relegation. When he first arrived, we were in a very tough situation.

“He inspired the team much. During his initial lecture to the players on the first day, his performances and caliber caused a mental shift in the entire group.

“The back four that played during the season we reached the Champions League were watertight defensively.”

Man Utd agree deal to sign Kone, 18, from Malian side Guidars FC

Manchester United and Guidars FC of Mali have reached an agreement for the 18-year-old Sekou Kone.

Erik ten Hag has sought to strengthen Kone’s position as a defensive midfielder, but United intends to ease him into the English league with the under-21s as he gets acclimated to the country.

Being aware of the significant cultural shift Kone will encounter after moving from Mali, United plans to integrate him gradually.

Crofts appointed assistant first-team head coach at Brighton

Andrew Crofts has been elevated to head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion’s men’s assistant first team.

In the coaching staff of new head coach Fabian Hurzeler, he will collaborate with Jonas Scheuermann.

The former midfielder joined Craig Bellamy’s revamped backroom staff at Wales, where he also assumed the position of assistant manager.

Additionally, the team has announced that Jack Stern, the goalkeeping coach for the first squad, has agreed to a new deal.

Hurzeler exclaimed, “This is fantastic news for the club, Crofty, and Jack.”

“I was aware of their significance to our coaching system when I joined the team, and I can now personally attest to their value to the organization.

“Moreover, I’m ecstatic for Crofty that he has this new chance with the national squad.

“As he expands his coaching expertise, I’m sure this will help him and the team. He will succeed greatly in this position, I’m convinced of it.”

Leeds sign Belgian forward Ramazani from Almeria

Largie Ramazani, pending a work permit, has been officially signed by Leeds United from Spanish team Almeria for an unknown sum.

The Belgian forward, who spent three years as a youth at Manchester United, has agreed to a deal with the Championship team, according to a story published by The Athletic on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old will wear the number 17 shirt and has agreed to a four-year contract at Elland Road. Ramazani is now the fifth summer addition to the team.

Ipswich agree deal to sign Sunderland’s Clarke

A agreement has been reached for Ipswich Town to sign Jack Clarke, a winger for Sunderland.

The Portman Road club will pay an upfront fee of £15 million, but with possible add-ons of £5 million, the deal might end up costing up to £20 million.

On Friday, the midfield player will travel to Suffolk for a medical examination before signing a long-term deal.

After starting his career at Leeds, Clarke was traded to Tottenham for £10 million. He first came to Sunderland in 2022 on a loan, and in 2026 he signed a permanent deal.

Zenit St. Petersburg striker Wilson Isidor is nearing a contract with Sunderland. Isidor, a 23-year-old former youth international for France, began his playing career with Rennes.

Clarke will become Ipswich’s eighth summer addition after the team was promoted to the Premier League under Kieran McKenna.
