The ‘Terrace Talk’ series from Football League World features the perspectives of our

FLW Fan Pundits on a variety of topics, including teams, players, managers,

potential signings, and breaking news.

The Sunderland transfer market appears to be far from finished.

The Black Cats may have a hectic week due to the impending summer transfer deadline.

With one of the most entertaining teams in the Championship,

Regis Le Bris has seized the chance to lead Sunderland with both hands.

When Le Bris took over in June, the team was incredibly young, but there is still

a lot of ability to be discovered. The club appears to be headed in the right direction

based on their first few games of the 2024–25 season direction and could be on the path to promo
tion.

The Black Cats won their first game of the season against Cardiff City after destroying Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 to earn six points out of a possible six.

However, this form might only be able to proceed if things go their way during the final week of the transfer window. Wilson Isidor, a forward, has already been confirmed by Sunderland as of Friday, thus the final week is off to a strong start. However, as Ipswich Town gets closer to completing a deal for the winger, concerns about Jack Clarke’s exit are starting to mount.

Sunderland would suffer greatly if Clarke left for the Premier League, but Isidor seems like a capable option. Although he can play through the middle or on the left wing, there is still space for him.

for a traditional number nine to walk through the door.

Sunderland chase RB Salzburg striker

Before the transfer deadline, Sunderland is reportedly interested in signing Roko Simic,

a striker for Croation. The 20-year-old has been RB Salzburg’s player for

the past three years and has made a few loan trips.

Before going back to his parent club, Salzburg, he made a significant impression

while on loan in the Austrian second division, tallying an incredible 19 goals in 24 appearances.

Throughout his career, Simic has participated in multiple Champions League games

and has even scored a goal and provided an assist.

The forward, who is six feet three inches tall, seems to be the ideal match at

the Stadium of Light, where they have had difficulty in recent years in finding a productive number nine.

Germanijak, a Croatian publication, has disclosed that Simic had visited

England before to a planned medical examination. This is exciting news for

Sunderland supporters as it appears that the transaction is finally coming together.
Sunderland supporter commentator thrilled about the Croatian

As previously said, Sunderland’s youthful team has the potential to excel in the Championship this year,

but Simic appears to be the missing piece in Le Bris’ puzzle.

Eddy Bamber, a Sunderland supporter for FLW, discussed the possibility of signing

the forward and expressed his immense inspiration when compared to other potential targets.

“It’s interesting that Simic signed. Based on his statistical data, it appears that at the age of 20,

he has already scored 34 goals in all competitions over his career, including one in

the Champions League versus Benfica.”

That’s excellent for someone his age. When you compare him to [Alexandre] Mendy,

who is 30 and has scored 60 goals in his career, you can see that he is already halfway there and is also in a top

flight league.”

“I’m more excited about Simic than I am Mendy, which seems to be all up in the air.

I don’t know if that deal is going to go ahead, I don’t think anyone does!”

‘I’m excited by this one, and he’s 6ft 3, so a little bit of added height to the team.

Get him on the end of some Jack Clarke crosses if we can keep him – Exciting prospect.”
