Just in: Manchester United without five players for Premier League trip to Brighton

Manchester United travel to Brighton this weekend for their first Premier League away game of the season and Erik ten Hag will be without five players.

We endured a difficult season last term due to injuries and we’re still without key personnel at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.

That didn’t stop United from securing three points in the opening weekend with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford. New signing Joshua Zirkzee scored the winner after coming off the bench and he could make his first start for the Reds against the Seagulls on Saturday.

United will be without Victor Lindelof for Saturday’s trip to the Amex Stadium and no players are set to return in time. The Swede has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, but the manager has revealed a toe injury has ruled the centre-back out of action for the foreseeable future.

When asked about Lindelof’s fitness, Ten Hag said (via Manchester Evening News): “No confusion, he has an issue on his toe, hopefully he can return quickly but not available for the weekend. Tyrell Malacia, Rasmus Hojlund, they’re not available. Luke Shaw, of course.”

The other absentees include Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund.

Brighton go into the game after beating Everton 3-0 last weekend.
