Tottenham had a terrific start to their pre-season, and the performances of some of their young players impressed everyone who watched them.

Lankshear was one of them.

The 19-year-old had a brilliant 2023/24 season for Spurs’ academy. He scored 25 goals in 26 appearances and caught everyone’s eye.

Postecoglou called up the young striker for pre-season, and reports emerged that Lankshear was Tottenham’s most impressive player in training.

After watching him in action in the friendlies, a number of Championship clubs expressed interest in signing Lankshear on loan.

However, Gold has revealed that Tottenham have told all the interested clubs that he is going nowhere.

He said: “First up, Will needs to recover from a hamstring injury suffered in the Trophy match on Tuesday night. I think the results of the scans on that should be available today (Thursday). Hopefully, it’s nothing bad but we’ll find out.

“I think there’s the potential for Will to get minutes in the Europa League and Carabao Cup in the next couple of months before making a decision in January about a loan move. I know Spurs have been telling clubs so far this summer that he’s not heading out.

“We’ll see if there’s any shift late in the window but it makes sense to continue his integration with the squad while playing U21s games at times after just breaking into the first team group
