‘Superstar’ forward who wanted to join Tottenham has now turned his attention to Barcelona.

Tottenham Hotspur tries to get rid of a few

unwanted players before the deadline next week.

Tottenham is now keeping a close eye on

Hayden Hackney at Middlesbrough in the Championship;

scouts from the team attended both of the team’s opening league games.

But whilst they keep an on the market, perhaps hoping to

sign a new number eight or another forward to add further fire-power to their attack,

Spurs have three players to sell.

Whilst it wouldn’t be a surprise if any of the trio stayed beyond the deadline,

it’s believed that Tottenham are seeking permanent exits for Sergio Reguilon, Manor Solomon and Giovani Lo Celso.

Three talented players in their own right,

but profiles that Ange Postecoglou simply doesn’t need right now.

That being said,

if Tottenham are able to sell both Solomon and

Lo Celso then perhaps they will target a versatile forward,

someone who can play as a number 10 or out wide.

And given his availability this summer,

perhaps Federico Chiesa remains the perfect candidate.

but he now plays mostly as a winger for Juventus.

Thankfully,

Chiesa is ready to sign with Tottenham this summer—or at least it was a few weeks ago.

However, it seems from Spanish reports that Barcelona’s interest,

which is far more forthcoming than anything from Spurs, has suddenly turned Chiesa’s mind.

Despite their interest, Tottenham has not yet placed a bid for Chiesa.

Furthermore, it appears like Spurs may still pursue

Chiesa in the last week of the transfer window, based on a Sport report.

At the age of 26, Chiesa has already given the go-ahead to go to Barcelona,

eager to start a new chapter in his career.

Since the “superstar” Italian hasn’t played outside of Serie A,

it is rather surprising that a Premier League team hasn’t made a more serious attempt to get the winger.

But unless there’s a last-minute twist,

it appears as though Chiesa will now become a new Barcelona player as teams like Spurs,

Arsenal, and even Newcastle United watch on.
