Before the US Open, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz played a charity doubles match at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Djokovic was happy to see Alcaraz again after defeating him in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

He told the young Spaniard that his time would come, but only after winning gold at the US Open. Djokovic also spoke highly of Alcaraz after the player participated in a doubles exhibition match with John McEnroe and Andre Agassi.

In response to questions about how hard their charity doubles match had been, Djokovic said, “I don’t think I’ve ever played, maybe, I don’t know, a few times in my life, on such a high level, intensely for three hours, only two sets.”

Djokovic has prevailed in five of their seven head-to-head meetings, including two pivotal matches in their rivalry: the Olympic and the 2023 French Open semifinals.

In the meanwhile, Alcaraz has defeated Djokovic in enormous triumphs, most notably in the Wimbledon finals in 2023 and 2024. All the same, Djokovic’s incredible twenty-four triumphs dwarf the Spaniard’s meager four major victories.
