Leeds United set for ‘long season’ after Georgino Rutter Brighton deal finalised

Dan Bardell thinks that if Leeds United doesn’t find a Georginio Rutter successor,

they will have trouble this season.

Following the activation of his release clause, the Frenchman confirmed his move to

the Seagulls on August 19th in a £40 million agreement [David Ornstein, 14 August].
With time running out, the Whites have attempted to replace

the 22-year-old with players like Jack Clarke and Manuel Benson,

but they have not been able to finalize a deal.

Journalist Bardell from Sky Sports and talkSPORT has pleaded with

Leeds to use the money they received from

Rutter again in attack to boost their chances of having a successful season.

“He needs replacing for sure,” Bardell stated in an exclusive interview with MOT Leeds News.

“This player received numerous assists in the previous season as

more of a number ten and was a very creative force.

“Leeds has a solid fee, but their main issue is that they have already

lost a number of important players for high prices.

They truly needed quality players, and Rutter was going to provide them with that;

it’s not like they really needed the money.

It can be a tough season if they don’t make some investments in the attacking areas.
Georginio Rutter money have to be reinvested by Leeds United.

With a significant decline in quality from the team that came

dangerously close to being promoted the previous season,

Daniel Farke’s team is currently in a bit of a shambles.

After Southampton narrowly defeated the Whites at Wembley,

things have only gotten worse.

Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville have both left,

along with Rutter, leaving a void in the

side at Elland Road.

Reinvestment is needed in attacking areas which is getting more urgent as

the transfer deadline moves closer and closer.

The likes of Clarke and Benson would prove to be positive signings but

the club need to get them over the line before it is too late and they are left short.
