Jayson Tatum’s benching in the 2024 Olympics became a huge topic since it was largely seen as disrespectful to one of the best players in the NBA, especially after he helped the Boston Celtics win Banner No. 18 last season.

So, when Jaylen Brown was interviewed in the latest episode of Dubs Talk, he was asked about the 2024 Olympics. The reigning NBA Finals and Eastern Conference Finals MVP appeared to have sidestepped the question about his Boston Celtics co-star.

“I don’t have any comments right now,” Brown said via Noa Dalzell of SB Nation. “I’m focused on the Oakland XChange and I’m excited about that. Jayson will be fine. Jayson Tatum will be fine. We will be fine, tonight is about the Oakland XChange.”

Jaylen Brown was in the Bay Area during the launch of the Oakland XChange on Tuesday, his newest nonprofit project alongside Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. The initiative is designed to “drive economic growth by laser-focusing on real estate development, business education, technology, and cultural competency,” per AfroTech.

Jayson Tatum is not the only Boston Celtics star snubbed by Team USA this summer, as Jaylen Brown was excluded from the national team.

Because of this, Brown will have some extra motivation in the build-up to the 2024-25 season, as the Boston Celtics are gunning for a rare repeat. The 27-year-old is training to a new level this offseason, sharing photos of his insane underwater pool workouts in Bahrain.

“Now we’ve got the target on our back,” Brown said on Dubs Talk. “Everybody’s trying to come after us, and I’m like, ‘Come on.’ So, it’s back to work and I’m looking forward to next season.”
