the club have offered one of their top wingers to Aston Villa.
Yet, the Midlands club are hesitant, leaving the player’s future uncertain.
Maresca’s vision leads to Sterling’s exclusion
“I’m not saying Raheem is not a good player but I prefer different kinds of wingers.
“I spoke with Raheem, one-on-one the day before City and I explained him exactly the situation.
I didn’t see Raheem after the game. In this moment,
they (Sterling and Ben Chilwell) are training apart.
The situation with them both is quite clear.”
Chelsea’s decision to exclude Sterling fits into a larger plan as they want to offload as many as fifteen
players. The club is eager to have their books in balance,
especially now that Joao Felix has recently joined.
Chelsea must find a solution before the transfer window closes on
August 30 due to Sterling’s large weekly salaries of £300,000.
Villa’s reluctance and financial considerations
When given the chance to acquire Raheem Sterling,
Aston Villa must make a difficult choice.
The club is being careful because of the deal’s financial load,
which includes Sterling’s exorbitant salary.
Reporter Ben Jacobs says Villa are unlikely to move
forward with the trade despite talks and Sterling’s willingness to take a price cut.

Sterling’s determination and limited options
Raheem Sterling has ruled out moving to
Saudi Arabia in favor of remaining in the
Premier League and regaining his place in the England team.
Federico Chiesa’s possible trade with Juventus was taken into consideration,
but it didn’t fit Chelsea’s long-term goals.
Sterling’s dissatisfaction with his current situation was made clear when,
despite taking part in pre-season training,
he was left out of Chelsea’s team for their Premier League opener against Manchester City.
Raheem Sterling and Chelsea are facing a crucial time.
Though not in Maresca’s plans, Sterling might stay at Chelsea until at
least January if a suitable move isn’t obtained by August 30.
