The Milwaukee Bucks’ season ended abruptly as they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the opening round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs. This was an early and unceremonious exit for a squad that was hoping to win another title.

Following that terrible outcome, the Bucks made the decision this offseason to cut guard Patrick Beverley. He has now committed to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, and he recently shared his candid feelings about leaving Milwaukee.

Beverley expressed on his podcast that he is content to be back playing important basketball rather than just being a role player and standing in the corner.

It’s admirable to see him go overseas to make himself happy, and hopefully, he can do well with Tel Aviv.

“It’s amazing. I played a great role. I had a phenomenal NBA career while I was in the NBA. But I don’t wanna stand in the corner and play with the Bucks,” Beverley stated. “I go back to a role where seven seconds to go, give me the ball. Watch me rock.”

If this is indeed the end of Beverley’s the league career, he had an impressive 12-year career that included seven seasons as a starter and nine postseason appearances.

It is admirable to see Beverley go overseas to make himself happy, and hopefully, he can succeed with Tel Aviv. Beverley averaged just 6.2 points per game last season with Milwaukee after being traded from the Philadelphia 76ers near the trade deadline and playing the fewest minutes per game he had since he was a rookie.
