BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon finally snubs Liverpool transfer move for two reasons – Details revealed.

Chris Sutton has told Anthony Gordon to snub interest from his boyhood club Liverpool and stay at Newcastle.

Newcastle offered Gordon to Liverpool in June as they tried to meet the Premier League’s PSR for last season and the Reds were interested in the England winger. However the move collapsed when Newcastle said want they wanted centre-half Jarell Quansah in part exchange.

Newcastle’s readiness to cash in on one of their best players has left Sutton confused and he is adamant the former Everton ace should not return to Merseyside. The pull of Liverpool is understandable for Gordon and the Scouser grew up supporting the Reds, although it was Everton who gave him his big break.

But Sutton feels he is at the right club to continue his development after his outstanding campaign last season, believing Magpies boss Eddie Howe is getting best out of him, while another huge factor is the fact he is loved by the Toon Army.

Sutton says “I heard these Anthony Gordon rumours a few months ago and was left scratching my head a little bit. First and foremost, I don’t know how Newcastle fans would feel about selling the player.

“The way Gordon was at Everton, I wasn’t the only person who questioned whether he had the right temperament. But in fairness to him, he’s gone to Newcastle to work under Eddie Howe and he’s knuckled down. Last season he was brilliant and performed really well. He produced his best form.

“If I was him, I wouldn’t be in a rush to leave Howe and Newcastle. The fans there really took to him – he felt the love from the Geordies. He seemed to have a really good relationship with the manager too which is key.”

Speaking to Best Online Poker Sites he added: “The Liverpool move is attractive and will come one day. But staying at Newcastle is the sensible option.”

Gordon was a big help, even if Newcastle found it difficult to duplicate their 2022–2023 success, when they qualified for the Champions League and finished the season without making it to Europe. In the Premier League, he made 10 assists and 11 goals to earn his first senior England call-up.
