Matt Araiza’s Candid Confession Prior to NFL Comeback

Matt Araiza, the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, has gone a very long way. The 24-year-old is back in the NFL, this time with the two-time defending champs, having seen his career abruptly end even before it began due to sexual assault charges stemming from his time at San Diego State.

Araiza doesn’t take anything for granted and is more than content with his current situation.

Prior to the commencement of his rookie season, Araiza found himself released by the Buffalo Bills due to his involvement in a lawsuit involving the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl at a San Diego party in 2021.

Araiza was later able to clear his name after it was determined that he was not there at the party at the time of the rape. Regardless, it wasn’t until this offseason that the troubled punter received the call to return to the NFL.

“It’s going to be pretty surreal,” Araiza told ESPN’s Adam Teicher about his comeback. “I’m definitely going to soak everything in. There were several times when I believed everything was over, so I’m extremely grateful to be here.”

“I adore football. I enjoy being outside, so it was on my mind a lot. It was difficult to watch Sundays for sure. “Really tough.”

Araize has obviously had a difficult few years, but for now, he’s just happy to be back.

Araiza is also aware that this incident will permanently damage his reputation. Still, he insists on being innocent.

Araiza stated, “Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I think you can come to a pretty clear conclusion if you do your own research.”

Football is the main focus here, particularly for the Chiefs. Araiza intends to make the most of this opportunity because he is well aware of his ability to handle the impending challenge with Kansas City.

Araiza remarked, “I feel like I’ve been punting really well.” “I’ve kept developing. My favorite thing is definitely that I’ve improved since day one compared to now, and I’m looking forward to that. Simply keep growing.
