Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be closing in on the signing of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke,

which would be a landmark acquisition for the North London club this summer.

The 26-year-old scored 19 Premier League goals last season, his greatest tally in the top level,

and would bring significant firepower to Spurs’ attack. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano,

the player has given Spurs the green light, indicating his desire to move.

The Telegraph has put the prospective sale at £65 million,

with the Cherries believed to be eager to part with their star player for such a big profit.

Solanke joined Bournemouth from Liverpool in January 2019 for £19 million.

The talisman has not addressed the rumors publicly,

but he did appear to hint about where he wanted to play football during an appearance on the Rising Ballers podcast.

Solanke was asked for his thoughts on European football, and he gushed about his little stint in the Champions League.

He stated: “European football is a dream for everyone;

I’ve had the opportunity to play in it a few times. Especially that season with Liverpool,

when we reached the final but fell short of winning. When I hear this music, I get chills.

It’s unbelievable to have that experience, especially at night beneath the lights.”

Solanke won a runners-up medal with the Reds in 2018,

and while a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would not provide

the striker with immediate Champions League football,

Spurs are qualified for the Europa League next season,

and those magical nights under the lights would be back on the player’s schedule.

Speaking on Solanke’s future at the end of July,

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola refused to rule out a possible departure.

He stated, “Dom is delighted. He has returned in excellent shape, is training diligently,

and has a positive relationship with his teammates.

“However, the market is open. You cannot say whether he will stay or depart because we do not know.

In the end, it is beyond your control.”
