Over the past few weeks, Celtic’s intention to reorganize their Academy personnel has been widely known; however, the club has now officially announced the extent of these changes.

As previously reported, Darren O’Dea has left his role as coach of the B Team to assume the newly established position of Professional Player Pathway Manager, where he will be responsible for the internal and external development of Hoops youth.

Jonny Hayes, a former Celtics player, arrived in Lennoxtown as a B Team assistant and has since been there. In the meantime, Adam Asghar, who will take over for Stuart McLaren as the new Under-18s manager, announced his appointment on Linkedin despite there having been no formal announcement from the club.

O’Dea recently changed jobs, and it’s been speculated that Stephen McManus will be the only leader of the B Team going forward.

Confirmation has now surfaced, answering some queries about the young coaching setup.

To Brendan Rodgers’ joy, Celtic confirm their Academy hires.

Celtic announced on their official website earlier today that they had fulfilled their intended Academy appointments.

Hayes is now in the number two spot, while McManus is the only head coach of the B Team. O’Dea has gone on to his new role, and Asghar has taken over as the Under-18s’ “lead coach,” putting a stop to the ambiguous coverage of the reorganization.

Rodgers’ primary goal during his second stint at Parkhead is to push Lennoxtown products. The Bhoys will have done an excellent job if these changes will hasten that process.
