However, after talks, Rangers are expected to win the fight for the 21-year-old, who played 42 games for Aberdeen last season.

Kelly is expected to become manager Philippe Clement’s fourth signing of the summer, following the additions of Jefte, Oscar Cortes, and Clinton Nsiala.

Kelly, who is out of contract at Motherwell, is representing Scotland at the Euros and is set to transfer to Ibrox, creating competition for No. 1 Jack Butland.

Last season, the 28-year-old made 43 appearances for Motherwell, which he joined from QPR three years ago.

When does the summer transfer window open and close?

The Premier League and Scottish Premiership’s 2024 summer transfer market is now officially open.

The window will close on August 30 at 11 p.m. UK time in England and 11:30 p.m. in Scotland.

The Premier League and Scottish Premiership moved Deadline Day forward to coincide with the other major leagues in Europe. The closing dates were determined after discussions with the leagues of England, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
