Rangers recruit Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan on a pre-contract basis; Nsiala will join the club on July 1, becoming the Scottish Premiership runners-up’s third close-season signing.

Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan on a pre-contract.

The 20-year-old French defender will become the club’s third acquisition of the summer when he officially joins on July 1.

Rangers have already signed Brazilian full-back Jefte and extended the loan of Oscar Cortes with an obligation to buy. The Ibrox side are expected to make several additions this summer as manager Philippe Clement rebuilds the squad following Celtic’s title win last season.

Nsiala joined the youth academy of Cercle Paul Bert de Brequigny aged six before making the move to Nantes as a 15-year-old.

The teenage defender spent two years in the development systems of the Ligue 1 club, impressing enough to win a move to AC Milan in 2021.

Nsiala was a regular starter for Milan’s U19s, who reached the final of the prestigious UEFA Youth League last season, starting nine of ten games.

He also was on the matchday squad for numerous of Milan’s Serie A games last season, gaining crucial experience under manager Stefano Pioli.

When does the summer transfer window open and close?

The Premier League’s 2024 summer transfer window officially opens on Friday, June 14, the same day that Euro 2024 begins.

The window will close on August 30th, at 11 p.m. UK time in England and midnight in Scotland.

The Premier League has moved Deadline Day ahead to coincide with the other major leagues in Europe. The closing dates were determined after discussions with the leagues of England, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
