Earlier today, there were several stories in the Spanish press stating

that Martin Braithwaite is now free to sign with any team

after his contract with Espanyol was dissolved.

With a pre-arranged amount of €600k, the forward was permitted to void his contract,

which still had one year remaining. The player has exercised the clause,

which is somewhat of a surprise in Spain, and Monday was the date for it to occur.

Espanyol has been promoted, and in recent days,

the team even made public pictures of Braithwaite undergoing his pre-season physical.

At this point, Everton, Southampton, and Leicester City are once again interested,

according to Denmark’s Tipsbladet.

The former Barcelona star is reportedly a free agent and may now be signed by any of

the three Premier League teams. Having said that, Braithwaite must

want Everton, Southampton, or Leicester City to make up for

the €600,000 he paid Espanyol today in some way.

This one could move rapidly, and if a move wasn’t quite solidly lined up,

it’s unlikely that he would have paid that condition.
