Glen Kamara, a midfielder for Leeds United,

is apparently getting closer to joining Ligue 1 team

Stade Rennais, thus Daniel Farke is looking to replace him.
With three new arrivals in the door thus far,

Daniel Farke’s preseason plans are heating up

ahead of the first friendly away to Harrogate Town next week.

Though many departures have already

been confirmed, just one notable first-team

departure—Archie Gray’s departure—has required midfield alterations.

Glen Kamara is moving closer to Rennes.
Early in the transfer season, reports from France arose suggesting that Stade Rennais,

who are rearranging their midfield since

Enzo Le Fee is on his way to Roma, are keen on Glen Kamara.
Adam Pope said that Leeds was not actively seeking to trade

the Finland international, who Rennes sporting director Frédéric Massara had

called a “good player” in response to rumors.

Since then, TEAMtalk has revealed that Kamara has agreed to terms to join

the Ligue 1 team this month, with the two clubs reportedly agreeing

on a cost of €10 million (£8.4 million).

Rothwell will not be his replacement.

Joe Rothwell, a 29-year-old, was signed by Leeds on loan from

Bournemouth on Thursday. Online rumors have the 29-year-old

playing in lieu of Kamara, who is obviously now more likely to depart.

Leeds All Over, however, has been informed by sources that this is untrue

and that Rothwell will arrive regardless of Kamara’s summertime departure to France.

In contrast to Rothwell’s midfield profile, Kamara’s deep-lying position alongside

Ethan Ampadu or Ilia Gruev is expected to cause the 49ers to search

for a suitable replacement in the event that the Finn departs.

Leeds intended to keep Kamara with the team, but the 28-year-old

seems eager to accept the offer, and the 49ers should profit from the deal, increasing the likelihood that he will reinvest.
Should an exit become possible, Kamara would need to be replaced.

It’s difficult with Kamara since, in most cases, he shouldn’t be sold because he is clearly a key midfield player in this Leeds lineup.

Nevertheless, Leeds should be able to reinvest well into the same position and profile with the money on the table, which could improve the team’s future situation.

Although Farke would like not to have to restructure the midfield, if the team must cash in and find a way to develop from there, then so be it.

Although difficult to replace, Kamara is still a very solid performer at this level.
