Birmingham City, Bristol City, and Sunderland are reportedly keen to make an aggressive summertime bid for the

playmaker. They want him back full-time after he spent the second part of the previous season on loan in the

Championship with the latter.

After his tenure at Ashton Gate came to an end, 24-year-old Twine returned to Burnley, although his future in

Lancashire is still uncertain. His Turf Moor contract expires in 2026, although it’s unclear if Scott Parker still has

intentions for him.

Journalist Nixon has indicated on Patreon that, according to the most recent report on his condition,

the Blues are trying to entice him to League One but haven’t been able to come to a deal with the Clarets over a

transfer fee just yet. The Midlands team, who finished last season in the second division,

is hoping to get promoted right away.

Birmingham City would benefit much from having Twine, and convincing him to move down a league would be a

major declaration of purpose.

But Bristol City and Sunderland have also been identified as possible suitors,

and they might be able to provide him consistent playing time in the higher division.

Although the Blues have financial resources, it is unknown how much they are willing to pay for the Swindon native,

as Burnley is expected to seek a large sum.

Twine was a member of Southampton’s academy prior to joining Swindon Town.

In addition to having loan stints with Chippenham Town, Waterford,

and Newport County away from the County Ground, he went on to score nine goals in 59 games for his hometown team.

In order to reach a deal with Burnley, Birmingham City will have to pay extra as they haven’t yet reached his worth.

Both Sunderland and Bristol City are still in the running and are two clubs to watch in this specific competition.
