Celtic, who haven’t even officially started their summer transfer window yet,

are supposedly about to make a better bid to get a striker who

Brendan Rodgers really likes.
News of a Celtic move

It is not an easy assignment to improve a team that has recently won

the Scottish Premiership for the third time in a row,

but Celtic has to make sure they stay at the top of Scottish football,

especially since Rangers are still looking to add players ahead of Philippe Clement’s

first full season in command. But it appears that a large portion

of their attention has been focused on holding onto elite players

like Matt O’Riley thus far.

It should come as no surprise that the Dane has drawn a lot of attention

following an incredible season at Celtic Park. Leicester City is rumored to

be interested in signing him, thus he may soon be heading to the English

Premier League. The loss of O’Riley would undoubtedly hurt Rodgers and

his team’s offensive output, particularly if the former Liverpool manager

is able to bring in Adam Idah this summer—a player who would be the

perfect partner for the 23-year-old.

The Bhoys have already had one £4 million bid for the

Norwich City striker turned down, but it looks like this story is far from done.

Football Insider reports that Celtic will boost their offer to sign Idah this summer,

but it’s unclear if they will meet Norwich’s £6 million asking price.

Idah apparently wants to leave Carrow Road in order to permanently

reunite with Celtic after making an impression when on loan in

Scotland during the second part of the previous season.

If the Scottish powerhouses are able to meet the Canaries’ demand for a

transfer fee in the upcoming months, the deal makes sense for all sides,

especially considering how he found his scoring touch in Glasgow

the previous time around.
“Quick” Idah must make a Celtic play.

Idah’s ability to score goals is something Celtic could really use,

but it’s arguable that the Norwich player is even more in need of a

long-term move to the Hoops. The 23-year-old was starting to stall in Norfolk

and didn’t seem like he would find his best form until he made a

splash in Scottish football, even scoring the game-winning goal.

Idah’s rapid ascent last season was highlighted by the fact that he

scored more goals at Celtic in 106 less games than he had scored in

his entire Norwich career.

It’s hardly surprising that Rodgers, who told the Independent last season,

“The board knows how I feel about Adam, which is why I brought him in,

” became a great admirer of Idah. Especially in the past six months,

he has been a true catalyst for us.

“Having seen him in the Premier League when I was eighteen,

I knew what I was getting.” He possesses every quality.

He is strong, quick, and energetic, and I thought that with

improved positioning, he could score goals. He has demonstrated

that he is a goal scorer since joining. He gets different types of goals.”
