Reports that a deal to buy Norwich midfielder Kenny McLean was off were dismissed as “premature” by David Edgar.

According to the Rangers Review,

there was no chance that he would be heading to Ibrox this week due to a disagreement over personal issues.

That appears not to be the case, as  Edgar acknowledges that the Bears still have hope even though nothing is certain.

“Nothing guaranteed, but reports it was off were premature,” he posted on the X Heart and Hand Podcast account.

With Philippe Clement possibly seeking more experience after focusing on younger players thus far,

this is definitely one to monitor right now.

Oscar Cortes, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, and Hamza Igamane on the horizon demonstrate

that Nils Koppen is turning the ship at Ibrox in a different direction.

In addition, the club’s choice to let go of Borna Barisic,

Ryan Jack, and John Lundstram suggests that McLean’s expertise might be greatly appreciated.

Ironically, rumors that a relocation had fallen through had McLean’s agent,

Alan Houldsworth, in convulsions, suggesting that it might still be on.

It is no secret that McLean has always wanted to play at his boyhood club,

and they would probably welcome him with open arms. However, there is no guarantee that it will happen.

This is another to watch closely going forward, as transfer activity at Ibrox has been flying thus far.
