Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa

It wouldn’t be a summer transfer window if Newcastle United were not linked with a move for Federico Chiesa.

For the last three summer transfer windows the winger has been on Newcastle’s radar according to reports

in Italy and so it was no surprise to see his name once again associated with Eddie Howe’s team last month.

This summer, above any, a move feels more right for the Magpies given they are on the lookout for a new right winger,

and Chiesa certainly fits the bill. A big part in Italy’s success on their way to the Euro 2020 title three years ago,

he’s helped Juventus win two Coppa Italia trophies and has become a big name in Italian football.

Now it has emerged Juventus are willing to sell the 26-year-old this summer as part of their reshaping of their squad,

with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano saying the club are will to listen to offers in the region of £20m with add-ons.

That figure will surely spark some interest among a number of clubs given Chiesa’s experience and ability,

with Liverpool also heavily linked with the Italian international.

After suffering to find his way following a cruciate knee ligament injury in 2022,

the winger showed more than enough signs last season he was returning to his very best form,

with 10 goals for Juventus last season and a string of performances that underlined he was over his difficult spell.

Having already sold Yankuba Minteh to Brighton and Hove Albion,

Newcastle are also expected to field interest for Miguel Almiron this summer and as a result will be

on the lookout for a new right winger who can replicate the sort of impact Anthony Gordon is making on the left side.
