According to reports, Sunderland rejected at least one formal offer for midfielder Jobe Bellingham,

who is valued at over £20 million, from Premier League team Brentford.

The Northern Echo claims that the London team

may have submitted more than one bid for the youthful midfield player.

Sunderland will have a hectic summer as they work to

bolster their roster in preparation for the 2024–2025 campaign.

After a longer than anticipated search for a new manager,

the Black Cats have officially announced the appointment of Regis Le Bris,

and attention will now quickly turn to their transfer intentions.

Although Sunderland would prefer that attention be focused on the players

they sign rather than the ones who leave, it seems that earlier in

this transfer window that it is possible departures that are dominating the headlines.

Regarding Jobe Bellingham’s future at Sunderland, there have been multiple reports since the Championship season concluded.

Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga was reportedly interested in signing the midfield player earlier in May.

Then, it was revealed that Bellingham, one of Crystal Palace’s summertime priorities, was in negotiations with the Premier League team about a transfer. Fabrizio Romano said in the same update that Brentford was also considering the young midfield player.

In recent weeks, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur have also been mentioned as having expressed interest in addition to these teams.

Romano just said that Bellingham’s transfer to Palace is still in the works, but it seems like they still have stiff competition.

The Northern Echo claims that Sunderland has rejected at least one official bid from Brentford for the signing of the eighteen-year-old.

The amount of the offer is not disclosed in the paper, but it was obviously insufficient for the Black Cats to contemplate selling.
