NEW INJURY BLOW: Newcastle midfielder will miss 12 months of play due to a broken metatarsal while on international duty.

Due to a broken metatarsal, 18-year-old midfielder Lewis Miley will be unable to participate in Newcastle’s preseason training.

Miley, who made 17 appearances and showed promise for Newcastle in the Premier League last season, is anticipated to miss about 12 weeks.

This implies that Miley, who also sustained a back ailment close to the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, will probably miss the start of the upcoming season.

In less than seven weeks, on August 17, Newcastle will play its first league game at home against Southampton.

Miley won’t be participating in any of Newcastle’s preseason games, including the Japan tour in July.

He scored one goal in the Premier League and participated in three of their Champions League matches last season.
