Aston Villa confirm contract agreement for winger

Villa have announced that Cole Brannigan has signed his first professional contract with them.

The 17-year-old winger joined the academy from Linfield FC last summer and performed admirably for Villa’s under-18s last season.

He appeared in 20 U18 Premier League games, scoring four goals and assisting three times.

Mark Harrison, Villa’s academy manager, believes a professional deal is a reward for Brannigan’s performances in claret and blue.

Cole Brannigan joined Aston Villa last summer

He stated, “We are thrilled Cole has signed his first professional contract after joining the academy from Linfield FC last summer.

“We have been really delighted with Cole’s improvement over the last 12 months, and this is a fantastic reward for his efforts.

“He is a skilled wide attacking player who is inventive in the final third; he has also played for Northern Ireland at underage level.

Congratulations to him and his family; we look forward to witnessing how he grows in the coming years.”

Brannigan follows in the footsteps of Charlie Pavey, I-Lani Edwards, Sam Lewis, and Ajani Burchall,

who all signed professional contracts this week.
