Sunderland boss makes admission over coaching staff arrivals
Regis Le Bris has claimed an interview process is running to bring some new coaches into the club.
Regis Le Bris was hired by Sunderland a few weeks ago, ending a protracted hunt for Michael Beale‘s long-term
replacement in the northeast.
Next season, they will be preparing to compete in the Championship once more. Their third season back in the
second tier will be in 2024–2025.

Le Bris’s ability to travel to England with any of his own coaches was a subject of much conjecture.
According to some accounts, he would, and Sunderland was in contact with two of his former assistants from Lorient.
Speaking to the media for the first time since taking the position, Le Bris has stated that a hiring process is underway
to fill this position, but it won’t be with the Ligue 1 team he was previously employed by.
Supporters, who believe that Mike Dodds and Michael Proctor should have left the team at the end of the season
during the interim period when they were in charge of things, were upset that Michael Beale didn’t bring any new
coaches to the team when he joined.
That doesn’t seem to be in the works, though, and it’s vital to keep in mind that Dodds and Proctor were both a part
of the Tony Mowbray squad that was successful and that they assisted the side in getting promoted from League One.
Sunderland needs to get better this year. Given the recent connections to seasoned midfielder Oliver Norwood,
the recruitment process needs to be better than it has been over the last 12 months, and it does appear to be getting
better.
