Ademola Lookman stole the show in the 2023/24 Europa League final, scoring a stunning hat-trick to single-handedly defeat Bayer Leverkusen and lead Atalanta to their first continental victory. In addition to his outstanding performance in the final, the 26-year-old had a fantastic season on all fronts, collecting a well-deserved honor as the club’s player of the year.

Lookman was in the spotlight as Atalanta ended Leverkusen’s incredible 51-game unbeaten streak across all competitions in the historic Dublin final. The Nigerian international became the first player to score a hat-trick in a one-leg European final since Pierino Prati in 1969, propelling La Dea to long-awaited continental triumph.

Lookman was equally impressive in Serie A, scoring 11 goals in 31 league games to help Atalanta qualify for the Champions League group stages after a two-year absence. Indeed, he was one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s most dependable allies last term.
