Anguy Ndombele agrees two-year deal following Tottenham release
Tanguy Ndombele’s football career is poised to begin a new chapter as he seeks to ultimately rehabilitate his failed
career. According to Foot Mercato, Tanguy Ndombele, who left Tottenham Hotspur last month, has signed a two-
year contract with OGC Nice.
Ndombele’s five-year time at Spurs ended predictably, with the club agreeing to a pay-off with the midfielder to
cancel the remaining year on his contract.
Many would believe that the £63 million cost paid by the Lilywhites to recruit him from Lyon in 2019 was the worst
business decision in the club’s history, and it would be difficult to argue otherwise.
Ndombele still had a year left on his contract with Spurs, but both sides have agreed to discontinue their
collaboration on June 30.
He last played for Tottenham in an FA Cup third round meeting against Morecambe on January 9, 2022, when he
was booed off the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while his team was losing.

Foot Mercato claims that Ndombele has now returned to French football, having agreed a two-year deal with Nice
ahead of the 2024-25 season.
According to the report, the Ligue 1 team is putting him through a rigorous physical regimen in order to bring him
back to his ‘top level’ ahead of the new season.
After getting criticism for his weight at Galatasaray last season, it is claimed that the 27-year-old has returned to his
‘ideal weight’ and is eager to show himself at the Allianz Riviera.
While it was painful to watch Ndombele as a Spurs supporter, I wish him all the best in the future and hope that the
midfielder can find his love for the game after a difficult five years.
This could be his final chance to resurrect his career after a string of bad loan periods and a stay at Spurs that will
leave him as perhaps the club’s biggest flop considering his price tag.
