Super Eagles player Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has signed a four-year contract with Lazio.

Serie A team Lazio, located in Rome, and Turkish team Hatayspor are purportedly in principle agreement to sell Super Eagles player Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to Lazio.

The 23-year-old British-Nigerian player signed a free transfer with Hatayspor last summer and has since established himself as a star player.

The Turkish Super League rookie season for Dele-Bashiru has been nothing short of extraordinary.

He participated in 34 of Hatayspor’s 36 league games, making 39 appearances across all competitions,

scoring nine goals and dishing out six assists.

His outstanding play has not gone unnoticed, as he was called up to the Super Eagles for the CAF World Cup qualifying campaign.

In Uyo, he made his debut by scoring a vital equalizer in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with South Africa.

Lazio and Hatayspor have reportedly agreed to the trade in principle,

pending approval from Marco Baroni, Lazio’s new manager,

according to Brilla FM. Given the existing budgetary limits in Serie A,

Lazio is projected to incur a hefty outlay of approximately €8 million for this contract.

Delele-Bashiru will be joining former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi,

who played for Lazio from 2011 to 2016 before joining Trabzonspor, should the trade be completed.

Dele-Bashiru may be a great addition for Lazio because of his offensive ability and dynamic presence in the midfield.

His consistent ability to score goals and make assists would greatly improve the team’s midfield options.

If successful, the transfer demonstrates Lazio’s desire to bolster their roster and contend at a better level in both domestic and European leagues.
