Manchester City, the Premier League winners, are allegedly considering an opening bid for RB Leipzig and Spain international Dani Olmo.

The talented attacking midfielder is currently on international duty with Spain in the 2018 European Championships in Germany,

where he and his teammates have advanced to the tournament’s quarterfinals.

Along with a goal from Manchester City midfield superstar Rodri on Sunday night,

Dani Olmo scored for Spain in the last-16 stage against Georgia, as Luis de la Fuente’s team cruised to a 4-1 victory to advance to the last eight.

Officials at Etihad Stadium will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on a number of players’ performances in this summer’s European tournament,

and Olmo’s long-standing respect for his versatility may be heightened by his recent achievements.

According to the newest reports, the Premier League winners

may be poised to transform their infatuation and monitoring of the playmaker into a tangible bid for him,

as Pep Guardiola seeks a revitalised roster for what could be his final season in charge of the club.

According to a recent story in The Sun, Manchester City is mulling a return bid for RB Leipzig and Spanish international midfielder Dani Olmo,

who was on their transfer wish list a year ago.

The 26-year-old’s current Bundesliga contract includes a £60 million release clause that is operative until July 15,

and the article also notes that the two teams have good connections following the acquisition of Josko Gvardiol last summer.

Manchester City may acquire more than one midfielder this summer,

as the club is interested in Newcastle United and Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes.

The 26-year-old had an active release clause in his current St James’ Park contract worth an estimated £100 million earlier this summer,

but Manchester City declined the opportunity to meet at such a number, and the clause subsequently expired.

Despite the fact that the club has been pushed into negotiations with Newcastle officials should they decide to pursue Guimaraes in the coming weeks,

there is still hope within the Etihad Stadium offices that a deal can be reached for less than the release clause valuation.
