Southampton and Leicester City are showing an interest in Slovenia international midfielder Timi Max Elsnik.

After beginning his career at Derby County, the 26-year-old has been a standout player for Olimpija Ljubljana,

and his performance has earned him a starting position in Slovenia’s Euro 2024 squad.

After playing well in Slovenia’s 1-1 tie with Serbia last week, he was selected for the Euros’ Team of Group Stage

Matchday Two. He was also a member of the team that stopped England in their goalless draw.

When his nation plays Portugal on Monday, Elsnick will be crucial once more.

Elsnick is also being pursued by Lazio and Lyon, although Premier League teams Southampton and Leicester City

have become aware of the £5.5 million asking price as they prepare to return to the top level.

Chelsea made a proposal for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but Leicester turned it down. Although negotiations are still

underway, some of the Chelsea players included in the deal are hesitant to go.

Charlie Taylor, a defender for Burnley, is being signed by Southampton as a free agent.
