Barcelona have now submitted £80m bid to sign Tottenham targetBarcelona has now placed a first-round bid to sign

the man for whom Tottenham was reportedly leading the chase.

The Spanish powerhouses are no longer a financial force in football, and they are probably envious of Real Madrid for splashing

the cash to recruit players like Jude Bellingham, Endrick, and Kylian Mbappe.

Barcelona makes a proposal for Jaden Philogene, a Tottenham target. According to a recent TEAMtalk article, Tottenham

was first in line to sign Hull City’s No. 23 player, Jaden Philogene.

Spurs reportedly had their eye on Antonio Nusa, the 32-year-old from Club Brugge, but their focus shifted to

the England U21 international.

Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany reports that

Barcelona has now made a loan offer for Philogene, which entails

a commitment to purchase him for

approximately €23 million (£19 million) next summer.

After doing a “detail” analysis of the 22-year-old last season, the Spanish powerhouses have extended an offer

to sign him that will expire in July 2026.

During the 2023–24 season, Philogene made 32 appearances in  the Championship, scoring 12 goals and dishing out six assists.
Spurs had to step in at that cost. Tottenham must match this £19 million bid if Hull City accepts it.

The north Londoners can afford that fee, and although reports suggest Ange Postecoglou is prepared

to shell out £68 million of his salary for Crystal Palace’s

Ebere Eze, Philogene could be a far more cost-effective option who is displaying signs of being able to replicate the

England international’s ascent from bright Championship talent to Premier League superstar.

They are both street footballers, if you will, and Philogene has a good chance of breaking throughas a £60 million player in the near future. Last season,

Ronaldo scored a spectacular goal against Rotherham

that may have even earned him the Puskas award;

Barcelona was undoubtedly impressed by that play alone.
