Postecoglou green-lights Tottenham move for £50 million man as Lange pushes

Spurs’ technical director Johan Lange is spearheading the team’s pursuit of a £50 million player, with the approval of Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs prioritize summer transfers with a midfield addition.

The north Londoners are reportedly looking for a new midfield player for the engine room,

according to a number of sources over the past few months, especially since some players are anticipated to leave N17.

Entering the last 12 months of his contract,

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg started just eight Premier League games the previous season after losing his position as the team’s stalwart.

As a result, Hojbjerg is expected to depart Spurs this summer,

with chairman Daniel Levy reportedly eager to profit from his sale while it is still feasible.

Giovani Lo Celso, however, is rumored to have no future at Tottenham and may be traded along with Hojbjerg.

 

Like the Dane, Lo Celso found it difficult to get opportunities under Postecoglou in the previous campaign. Of his 22 appearances, he started just four league games and came off the bench 18 times.

There have been several connections to a new central midfielder as a result of the uncertainty surrounding both of their futures.

For almost a year now, Tottenham has been strongly connected to a deal for Conor Gallagher, a star for Chelsea, and it is said that Spurs are still interested in the player.

Some rumors claim that Postecoglou is a huge fan of Gallagher,

but given Chelsea’s rumored £50 million price,

landing the England international for Euro 2024 would be difficult.

They are looking for alternatives to the 24-year-old.

Tottenham is reportedly interested in Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana,

who is rumored to cost about £25 million.

The Lilywhites are also pursuing Aston Villa sensation Jacob Ramsey, a midfield player.

Numerous media outlets have confirmed that Spurs’ recent player-plus-cash offer for Ramsey, which included £20 million and Lo Celso, was turned down.

Postecoglou approves Ramsey’s move while Lange closes a Spurs deal.

Reliable football.london reporter Alasdair Gold claims that Lange is leading Tottenham’s pursuit of Ramsey, and Postecoglou has given the go-ahead for a trade.

Although it is now doubtful that the Villans will trade Lo Celso, Gold supports the idea that Spurs would have tried to utilize him as a makeweight in any proposed transfer for the 23-year-old.
