According to ESPN on Friday, the Dallas Mavericks are selling guard Quentin Grimes to the Detroit Pistons in

exchange for Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round lottery selections.

In 2024–2025, Hardaway, 32, will receive $16.2 million as the last year of his four-year, $75 million contract.

season. In 14 postseason games, he scored 4.4 points and pulled down 1.8 rebounds to help the Mavs advance to the

NBA Finals.

The Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway’s son has averaged 14.0 points and 2.9 rebounds across his career in 736 games

(345 starts) with the Mavericks (2019–24), Atlanta Hawks (2015–17), and New York Knicks (2013–15, 2017–19).

Over his career, he has made 1,676 3-pointers at a percentage of 36.0.

Grimes played in just six games for Detroit, averaging 5.3 points and 2.3 assists, after being traded by the Knicks on

February 8th to the Pistons.

Throughout his career, Grimes has averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 168 games (90 starts) for the

Pistons and Knicks (2021–24).
