West Ham United eye new transfer with £17m+ bid made

According to Alexis Bernard, West Ham have made an offer worth more than £17 million to sign Metz attacker

On June 28, a journalist for Le 10 Sport stated that the French club had received the largest bid for the 23-year-old to

date. Lens and AS Monaco have both made offers for Georgia’s striker, who is now the leading scorer at Euro 2024

with three goals.

Bernard posted on Twitter: “West Ham signs Mikautadze, OL comes! West Ham made a substantial offer, the biggest

received by Metz.”

The Hammers must ensure that Mikautadze is not signed based on the Euro 2024 hype, and there is some cause to

assume that, as Alexis Bernard stated in August 2023 that the club intended to sign the Georgia international.

While the 23-year-old has impressed during the tournament, scoring three goals in three games, it is critical to

assess his long-term potential and fit within the club, but a new striker is clearly required this summer.

The striker has had a mixed club career thus far, scoring 14 goals in 31 appearances for Metz last season, but he has

yet to establish himself consistently at the highest level. Before making a substantial investment, the Irons must

carefully analyze his results over a longer period of time.

Furthermore, Lens and AS Monaco are both making offers for Mikautadze.

This might increase his price, resulting in an inflated transfer fee, and the London Stadium club must carefully

assess the cost against the possible benefits of signing him.
