Gazzetta says that Rossoneri now have a fresh strategy after Milan were turned off by the conditions associated with signing Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna, which included paying his agent Kia Joorabchian
an additional £13 million ($16 million) in addition to the £34 million ($43 million) release clause.
For a combined cost of €55 million (£47 million/$59 million), they intend to recruit forwards Lukaku and Abraham this summer.
The Bigger Picture
The source also states that Milan is unwilling to pay more than £25 million ($32 million) for Lukaku, who has a €43 million ($46 million) release clause at Chelsea. The Italian powerhouses would also try
to sign Abraham for a salary of about £21 million ($27 million).
Lukaku, 31, has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract, and Abraham, 26, has an expiration date
of 2026 at Roma. The former had a season marred by injuries, managing just one goal in 12 games,
while the latter scored 21 goals in 47 games for Roma this season.
Former Chelsea striker Abraham is taking advantage of his summer vacation, whereas Lukaku is presently competing for Belgium in Euro 2024. On Monday, Lukaku will start for his team in the competition’s last-16 matchup against France.
