Liverpool has received permission to sign Leroy Sane, a former speedster for Manchester City,

makinga major transfer window statement.

The German winger has long been associated with the Reds; as early as October, German

publication BILD reported on their interest. Even if Bayern Munich’s season has been turbulent,

Sane is having a good season there.

Sane has long been regarded as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, 31, as Liverpool looks

to the future. It now looks like there will be another departure from the Bundesliga.

Following their loss of the title to Bayer Leverkusen this season, Bayern has been linked to a mass exodus of superstars, with Sane being the most high-profile casualty. This is being reported by BILD.

Throughout his career, Sane has played on both wings; nevertheless, Bayern prefers him to play as

a right winger because he spent the majority of his time on the left in the Premier League. But in

terms of style, he would make sense as Salah’s successor. After the season, Salah may finally make

the move to the Saudi Pro League.

Sane was previously valued at €80 million by Liverpool; but, as FC Hollywood wants to sell,

his current price is probably much lower. The 28-year-old Bayern No. 10 further complicates his

chances of actually joining Liverpool.

The Merseysiders have worked hard in recent times to bring in younger players; however,

with FSG currently restructuring the Anfield backroom staff, it’s possible that targets for transfers

have moved on from Sane.
