Regis Le Bris, the long-awaited successor to Michael Beale, has been appointed,

and Sunderland can now begin their preseason preparations.

For the last several months of the season, Mike Dodds was in command, but it took weeks after the season ended to find a permanent replacement.

All eyes are now on the future, with Le Bris expected to improve upon the Black Cats’ poor bottom half result from the previous campaign.

We have compiled all of the most recent information and transfer rumours pertaining to the remaining Championship teams in the interim.

Shackleton nears Blades move

According to reports, Sheffield United and Jamie Shackleton of Leeds United have reached an agreement.

After a poor start to the summer transfer season, the Blades are now trying to complete moves,

especially those that are for free, to hold onto some of the big earners who have followed them down from the Premier League until they can clear out.

This summer, Shackleton’s contract with Leeds expires, and at the end of this week,

he will become a free agent—but only for a little while. Football Insider claims that Shackleton has consented to join the Blades,

and the agreement will formalise in the next few days.

“He’s best in a Leeds United shirt, that’s for sure,” Leeds manager Daniel Farke stated in February of Shackleton.

“I truly think highly of him, especially considering how adaptable and versatile he is.

He has filled in admirably at right-back for us in recent months when we have required him,

and I recall one particularly strong showing at left-back. He was a big part of our victory at Ipswich on the road.

He has been a long-time member of Leeds United and consistently gives the team his all.

This is the player you want on your team at all times; he may not be the centre of attention all the time,

but he is dependable no matter what. There is no doubt that we will take care of Jamie.”

The defender Diego Llorente, who has been out on loan with AS Roma for the past 18 months,

is another player who is anticipated to depart Leeds. If Roma decides not to re-sign Llorente this summer,

he has no interest in going back to England, according to Siamo de Roma.

Roma is reportedly thinking of giving the 30-year-old a three-year contract, which would only set them back £2.5 million.

However, even though the offer isn’t here yet, what is.
