With Scotland eliminated from Euro 2024 after a dismal group stage performance, the players can return to their

clubs and prepare for preseason. Or, for some, entertain discussions about a possible move during the summer

transfer season.

Several Scottish talents have recently made headlines after drawing interest from overseas teams. Scottish

Premiership teams are currently competing against one another, but attention is also coming from England, other

parts of Europe, and even further abroad.

Lawrence Shankland is in high demand after a successful season with Hearts. The Jambos striker scored 31 goals

and assisted eight times in all competitions. Saudi Arabia is interested in signing Rangers captain James Tavernier,

while former Gers manager Steven Gerrard hopes to reunite with the defender at Al-Ettifaq. Meanwhile, Rangers are

reportedly ‘working on a deal’ to sign 32-year-old Kenny McLean. According to Football Insider, if McLean is signed

and Tavernier chooses to depart for the Saudi Pro League, the Ibrox club might immediately install McLean as

captain.

It was revealed earlier this month that the Light Blues had begun ‘preliminary talks’ with Norwich City for McLean,

whose current contract is set to end in 2026. The midfielder is believed to command a fee of around £1 million, and

FI journalist Daniel Bowers believes Philippe Clement and co. may give the armband as a reward if Tavernier

departs.

McLean has been at Norwich for six years, joining from Aberdeen in 2018. The Rutherglen-born midfielder began

his junior career with the Dons and Rangers before joining St Mirren to kickstart his senior career.
