Het Nieuwsblad reports that Anderlecht is interested in signing Dennis Praet, a 30-year-old center midfielder. The Belgian is expected to quit English club Leicester City when his contract ends at the end of June. According to reports, if they can sign Praet, they may decide not to pursue a deal to re-sign Danish international Thomas Delaney, who was on loan last season.

Praet progressed through the Anderlecht youth system before joining Sampdoria in the summer of 2016 for roughly €8.00 million. Praet impressed in Serie A and joined Leicester in 2019, with the English club investing roughly €19 million to get him to the Premier League. During his tenure with Leicester, he helped them win the FA Cup but was also a member of the team that was relegated to the Championship. Praet played a year in Serie A for Torino during the 2021/2022 season. This year, he made only 20 appearances for the Foxes as they won the Championship and promotion.

If he returns to Anderlecht, the former Belgian international will add to his 182 appearances for the club before leaving. Praet had 27 goals and 39 assists during his stint with the Mauves. In 2014, he earned the Belgian footballer of the year.
