Manchester United has accepted Lazio’s proposal for a new Greenwood deal.

Manchester United has accepted Lazio’s proposal for a new Greenwood deal.

In a recent round of negotiations, Lazio and Manchester United discussed the possibility of adding a player to the deal for Mason Greenwood, the contentious winger.

After spending the season on loan at Getafe, the 22-year-old Englishman is once again being targeted by the Red Devils for a summer departure.

He was kicked out of the club after images and videos from January 2022 that were posted on social media were purportedly abusive and domineering.

In October 2022, Greenwood was charged with attempted rape,

assault causing actual bodily harm,

and controlling and coercive behavior after being detained on suspicion of rape and assault.

The next summer, he was shipped off to Getafe after the charges were controversially dropped.

New discussions for Greenwood by Lazio
Calciomercato.com reports that Lazio and Manchester United have continued their negotiations in an effort to find a compromise for Greenwood, whose transfer fee is €35 million.

The Italian team said that its €20 million goalie, Christos Mandas, might be included.

The Red Devils don’t agree with this assessment,

but they’re still in communication as they try to work things out. Given that Vedat Muriqi,

the record signing for the Biancocelesti under Claudio Lotito,

cost approximately €20 million,

it is hard to imagine them paying the entire sum.
